The Feeling of Being Indian – A Shame?

It’s been 63 years of independence and India is still a developing country. Independence is not only the freedom for a country, but a freedom of thoughts. This freedom must be synonymous to liberalisation, jingoism and many other things. When we put together all these jargons and make a mix, what we get is called Indian and the mix symbolises India.

Many people would tell with broad shoulders that they are the proudest Indian in the planet. But nowadays, the voice of those words has lost their decibels. Whenever, we hear this first thing what we get as an Indian is goose bumps and truly so. Being a youth of a country that has produced great leaders will always gives you goose bumps. The feeling of Indian is deeply increasing. Thanks to the terrorists, who attacked in the recent past.

The Taj hotel attacks by the terrorists had created the buzz in Indian market and made the whole India to join hands and chuck the terror bugs out of India. There are many such incidences, where we found the whole country coming forward and made India proud. Today’s Indians are considered to be tomorrow’s leaders and for that matter any country. The spirit of Indian is increasing day by day. But question arises from all parts of the country that why the feeling of an Indian comes to everybody only when a sensitive incidence occur or only on August 15 of every year? Cricket is another factor that makes Indian’s come together. Nobody can deny this fact? How many times we shout together, when we see an India Pakistan cricket match? The last ball of the match makes the adrenaline flow hard in our veins. Being Indian for many is the thought that comes very easily.

For some it is like a ball dipped in fire called patriotism and for some it is just malice. Many people feel that being an Indian is like having a deep conversation felt deeper in the heart. To explain the state of being Indian needs hours of conversation to make the embryonic words come out of the heart. People say Indian’s are future leader of the World. Even the lights of Bill Gates, who said if there are no Indian software brains then there is no Microsoft or the great lovable leader of India, Dr. APJ. Abdul Kalam, believe that Indian’s are like the diamonds that are uncut. They are sharper than the original. They are covered with dust and rust but when polished, will outshine the sharper. World has already recognised the power of Indian’s but not India. It is shameful for every Indian to accept this fact but it’s true.

We are independent on the records but the reality is different. People or in fact the youth are suppressed by the lame law and powerful politicians. Western culture is spreading like an unstoppable virus. The only need of today’s Indian youth and so called tomorrows Indian pillars is apprehension of ideals and not obligation.
